One team. One supply chain. Total control.
Most contractors are assemblers — they buy materials, sub out the hard parts, and hope it all lines up. Svensen owns the chain end to end. That’s the whole story, and it’s the reason we can promise things other builders can’t.
The four steps no competitor owns together.
01 Raw log
Douglas Fir, sourced for the build.
02 Milled timber
Oversized members cut to spec at our own mill.
03 Engineered structure
Frames and canopies engineered in-house.
04 Finished build
Raised and finished by the Svensen crew.
The middlemen are where cost and quality go to die.
Every handoff in a normal build is a place for the budget to inflate and the quality to slip. The supplier marks up the timber. The fabricator marks up the supplier. The GC marks up the fabricator. And when something is wrong, everyone points at someone else.
Svensen removed the handoffs. We mill our own oversized Douglas Fir at Washington Timber Company. We engineer the structures through EV TimberShield. We build the finished project ourselves. One company, one standard, one phone number when you have a question.
For a homeowner, that means premium materials stay in the budget instead of getting value-engineered out. For a developer, it means material-cost volatility hits us before it hits your pro forma. For a hospitality group, it means the timber that makes your room feel like something doesn’t disappear in the first round of bids.
That’s the Svensen difference. It isn’t a slogan — it’s an ownership structure no local competitor can copy.
